Reporting to our VP of Marketing, this role focuses on product messaging and positioning, strategic narrative, value propositions, partner and sales team enablement, go-to-market strategy, and competitive intel of Lightbend solutions.
From a product marketing standpoint, you will own one of Lightbend’s two solution offerings.
Success in this role requires translating the big picture into actionable insights, gaining a deep understanding of our target markets, defining effective go-to-market plans, and building programs to scale. You will be responsible for developing our Product Marketing strategy, PMM partner and sales enablement strategies, driving awareness, meeting performance goals, and leading GTM for relative product announcements and launches.
What You’ll Do
- Develop a deep understanding of our target market, including buyer personas, key use cases, and customer needs
- Become deeply familiar with Lightbend solutions; understand the technical ins and outs of how it works
- Develop messaging and content that articulates Lightbend’s capabilities and differentiated value
- Own the go-to-market product process and strategy, and align product initiatives across sales journeys and customer lifecycles
- Create targeted customer-facing materials including, but not limited to data sheets, case studies, white papers, video scripts, digital advertising, email campaigns, and blogs
- Work with solution SMEs to build sales and partner tools, enablement, and training e.g. sales plays, sales presentations, battle cards, messaging blueprints, and prospecting templates
- Partner with marketing team members to develop targeted campaigns that drive and accelerate pipeline
- Manage content / collateral for consumption by internal and external / partner stakeholders in Lightbend’s Partner Portal (Allbound)
- Research customer and market trends to help inform content development and enablement
- Own hands-on competitive intelligence for other tools and solutions in the market
- Develop insights based on product usage data, voice of customer, campaign effectiveness, and industry trends and translate those insights into actionable recommendations that promote business objectives and drive tangible results
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in product marketing or solution marketing
- 5+ years of experience in product marketing for enterprise software or SaaS/PaaS companies
- Strong experience developing impactful new messaging
- Excell in organizational skills and can simultaneously own and drive multiple projects over the finish line
- Stand out verbal and written communication skills
- Expertise in developing PPT/Slides presentations
- Portfolio of impactful marketing content, sales, and partner enablement materials
- Experience owning and leading product announcements and launches
- Experience marketing technology solutions to technical and executive personas
- Experience developing GTM plans
- Customer-first attitude. You love the process of analyzing and creating, but you also share your passion for doing the right thing. You know at the end of the day it’s about making the right decision for our customers.
- Cross-functional product marketing experience with a track record of delivering on high-impact goals -- Cloud marketplace experience is a bonus!
- Previous experience bringing new SaaS/PaaS B2B products to market
- Strategic mindset and ability to frame problems and develop ambitious solutions, while balancing the demands of executing at speed and scale
- Strong eye for business, as well as strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to draw conclusions based on data
- Self-starter with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to operate independently to build new programs and initiatives
- Thorough understanding of the sales processes and how best to support sales and partner teams and equip them for success
- Define, track and report on success metrics and demonstrate the impact Product Marketing has on business goals
- Previous start-up experience a plus
