Overview of the role:

We're a remote-first, Toronto-based startup with big ambitions. As the Product Marketing Manager, you'll play a crucial role in bringing PolicyMe’s new products to market, refining brand messaging, and empowering our Customer Success/Sales teams. You'll be the bridge between our Product, Growth and Customer Success/Sales teams, utilizing your skills to drive growth and strengthen our brand's positioning.
Reports To: VP of Growth
What you'll be doing:
- Go-to-Market Project Management: Spearhead go-to-market initiatives for new products, new audience segments and new partners
- Conduct pre-launch customer, competitor and market research, to increase the probability of launch success (may include secret shopping)
- Collaborate across Customer Success, Marketing and Product to ensure post-launch success (includes post-launch tracking and reporting); hold teams accountable to launch deadlines
- Messaging & Positioning: Lead the creation, refinement, and continuous improvement of messaging for our suite of products, ensuring alignment with our brand and market positioning; may involve A/B testing of messaging and / or localization of messaging by region
- Review marketing assets and insurance advisor calls to enforce accurate and consistent product messaging and positioning
- Collaborate closely with Customer Success/Sales to ensure that the advice provided aligns with our internal insurance philosophy
- Sales Enablement & Training: Champion sales enablement efforts by developing impactful materials, including templates, scripts, and brochures
- Conduct regular product training sessions to ensure that the Customer Success/Sales team remains up-to-date and well-versed in our offerings
- Collaborate with the sales team to refine value propositions based on feedback and market trends
- Customer Research & Insights: Actively engage in customer research, synthesizing findings to derive actionable insights that inform our strategies and product offerings
- Work closely with our emerging Data team to identify trends and new opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to infuse these insights throughout our organization, from product development to marketing campaigns
What we are looking for:
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: Embodying a self-starting spirit, a bias towards action, and a resilient approach to challenges
- 6-8 years of Experience with 2-3 years in a PMM or PMM-adjacent role: Relevant PMM experience is a must, with experience taking new products to market. Preference will be made to experience within Fintech or Insurtech sectors
- Communication Prowess: Not just competency, but mastery in both written and verbal communication. Ability to distill complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives is paramount
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven track record of working cross-functionally and ensuring alignment across diverse teams, especially in high-paced startup environments
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience in leveraging customer research and insights to craft and refine marketing strategies that truly resonate and drive results
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in dynamic environments, rapidly responding to changes and ensuring seamless execution
- Marketing Channel Expertise: While a basic understanding of marketing channels is essential, a specialized depth in leveraging them specifically for product launches is a significant advantage
